The king has died, long live king! It could be said for rally too. Organizers usually start to prepare new season right after the end of the previous one.

We have started to prepare the rally 2006 with the rates of the ended competetion – with its positives and negatives. Slowly we had the imagination about the structure of the next season. In this stage, for us was very important to know, if the Rally Košice will be the part of Hungarian Championship in 2006. This is important because the structure of the route and its so called transmittance has to be addopted to the size of the starting field. The answer to this question was priority for us. We were pleased to receive the positive answer from MNASZ. Classification of our rally to Hungarian championship was under the condition of changing the dates of competition from June to October. The months May, June, July are reserved for Hungarian´s gravel rally (Székesfehérvár, Veszprém, Szombathely). With heavy heart we had to agree with the change from June to October, and we have started the preparation for a new season. When we planned the route, we were dissapointed with received information that we couldn´t use the planned – renewed special stage Regeta, because the last 6 km of the route won´t be repaired this year (the first part of the route was repaired last year). That´s why we have prepared classical time table of our competition, very similar to the past one.

We have received the information at the beginning of the year that the replacing of our rally to October, and its classification at the end of rally callendar, doesn´t encounter with the positive reaction in Hungary – mainly from advertising reasons. At the self-possession „the top“ of the Hungarian starting field is very possible that about the title will be decided in Slovakia.

After this information the organizer´s comitee has decided to return to the thought of organizing rally, on which we had worked very carefully in 2001 when Rally Košice was prepared – that it would be held in the territory of the both states. This is the main thought. We will have to work on many details connected to this problem. Our partner from Hungarian side was chosen the reliable organizer – Larocco Veszprém – organizer of rally in Egri, in Veszprém and others.
